Reports of Phone Scams

Tuesday, 09 July 2013

There is currently a phone scam going around from callers stating they are with Microsoft Windows.

The caller states that your computer has viruses that need to be cleaned or that your warranty has expired and that they can remote access into your computer to fix it. Then they will ask for your debit card number to pay for the services through Western Union.

Please be aware that Microsoft Windows does not call customers and will not ask for your debit card as a form of payment, and they do not go through Western Union as a form of payment.

If you or someone you know falls victim to this scam, please call or stop in to see one of our personal bankers.
